Import Guide
Step-by-step import guide
API recommended — Bybit uses a Unified Trading Account, so one read-only key captures spot, derivatives PnL, and funding fees together.
Log in to Bybit
Go to bybit.com and sign in.
Open API Management
Hover your profile icon → API, or go to Account & Security → API Management.
Create a new key
Click "Create New Key" → choose "System-generated API Keys" and select "Read-Only" (API Transaction).
Set read-only permissions
Enable read access for "Orders", "Positions", "Wallet", and "Assets". Do NOT enable trading or withdrawals. Bind to no IP if you are unsure.
Copy your key and secret
Copy the API Key and Secret immediately — the Secret is only shown once. Paste both into Taxxy's Bybit connection form.
Things to know
Bybit-specific notes
Unified Trading Account
Bybit merged spot, margin, and derivatives into a Unified Trading Account. A single read-only API key covers all of them, so you don't need separate connections for spot and futures.
Funding fees on perpetuals
Perpetual positions pay or receive funding every few hours. Taxxy imports Bybit funding fees and treats them correctly (income or expense) rather than dropping them, which matters for active derivatives traders.
FAQ
Common questions
Does Taxxy import Bybit derivatives and funding fees?
Yes. Taxxy imports spot trades, perpetual/futures PnL, and funding fees from Bybit. Funding is one of the most commonly missed items on other tools — Taxxy includes it.
What API permissions does Bybit need for Taxxy?
Read-only. Enable read access for orders, positions, wallet, and assets only — never trading or withdrawal permissions for a tax import key.
Can I import Bybit via CSV instead of API?
Yes. Export your spot, derivatives, and funding history from Bybit and upload the CSVs to Taxxy. The API is more complete for derivatives, but CSV works well for spot-only accounts.
