    Import Guide

    Step-by-step import guide

API recommended — captures all 12 data sources including Convert trades, Futures PnL, and Earn rewards that CSV exports split across many files.

    1

    Log in to Binance

Go to binance.com and sign in to your account.

    2

    Open API Management

Click your profile icon → Account → API Management.

    3

    Create a new API key

Click "Create API" and label it "Taxxy" or similar. Choose "System Generated".

    4

    Set read-only permissions only

Enable "Enable Reading" only. Do NOT enable "Enable Spot & Margin Trading", "Enable Withdrawals", or any other permissions.

    5

    Complete security verification

Verify via email and 2FA as prompted. Binance may require IP restriction — enter Taxxy's IP or select "Unrestricted" if you prefer.

    6

Copy your API key and secret

Copy both the API Key and Secret Key immediately — the Secret is only shown once. Paste them into Taxxy's exchange connection form.

    Things to know

    Binance-specific notes

    No unified ledger endpoint

Unlike Kraken, Binance does not have a single API endpoint that returns all account activity. Taxxy solves this by combining 12 separate Binance API sources — the most comprehensive Binance import available. This includes Convert trades, Futures income, and Margin interest that most tax tools miss entirely.

    Futures account is separate

Binance Futures (USDM and COINM) is a separate account from spot. When you connect via API, Taxxy fetches both spot and futures data automatically. Make sure your API key has "Enable Futures" reading permission if you use perpetuals.

    Convert trades need special handling

Binance's instant Convert feature (crypto-to-crypto swaps via the Convert portal) is stored separately from regular spot trades. Taxxy fetches Convert history via the /sapi/v1/convert/tradeFlow endpoint to ensure these taxable events are not missed.

    Rate limits and large histories

For accounts with years of trading history, the initial import may take several minutes as Taxxy pages through all endpoints respecting Binance's rate limits. Subsequent syncs are incremental and fast.

    FAQ

    Common questions

Does Taxxy import Binance Futures PnL and funding fees?

Yes. Taxxy fetches Futures income history (realised PnL, funding fees, commissions) via the Binance Futures API. This requires your API key to have read access to the Futures account.

Do I need to enable trading permissions on my Binance API key?

No. Taxxy only requires "Enable Reading" (read-only). Never enable withdrawal or trading permissions for a tax import API key.

How does Taxxy handle Binance Convert trades?

Binance Convert is an instant swap feature separate from the spot order book. Taxxy fetches Convert trades via a dedicated Binance endpoint and classifies them as 'swap' transactions in your ledger.

What if I have Binance sub-accounts?

Sub-account support requires each sub-account to have its own API key. Connect each sub-account separately in Taxxy and all transactions will be consolidated in your portfolio.

Why is my Binance import taking a long time?

For accounts with several years of history, the initial import combines data from 12 API sources and may take 3–8 minutes. Taxxy respects Binance's rate limits to avoid triggering bans. Subsequent syncs are incremental.
