Import Guide
Step-by-step import guide
API recommended. OKX uses three credentials — API key, secret, and a passphrase you set when creating the key.
Log in to OKX
Go to okx.com and sign in.
Open the API page
Go to your profile → API, then click "Create V5 API Key".
Set a passphrase and read-only permission
Choose a passphrase (you'll need it in Taxxy), and select "Read" permission only. Do NOT enable "Trade" or "Withdraw".
Complete verification
Confirm via 2FA/email. OKX may ask you to bind an IP — leave unrestricted if unsure.
Copy key, secret, and passphrase
Copy all three — API Key, Secret Key, and the Passphrase you set — into Taxxy's OKX connection form.
Things to know
OKX-specific notes
Three-credential API (key, secret, passphrase)
Unlike most exchanges, OKX requires a passphrase in addition to the key and secret. You set it yourself when creating the key — keep it, because it cannot be recovered later.
Unified account across products
OKX's unified account spans spot, margin, and derivatives. One read-only key imports all of them, including funding fees on perpetual positions.
FAQ
Common questions
Why does OKX need a passphrase?
OKX's V5 API uses three credentials: key, secret, and a passphrase you choose when creating the key. All three go into Taxxy. If you lose the passphrase you must create a new key.
Does Taxxy import OKX funding fees and PnL?
Yes. Spot trades, margin, futures/perpetual PnL, and funding fees are all imported and classified correctly.
Is a read-only key safe?
Yes. Only enable "Read" permission. A read-only key cannot trade or withdraw — it can only view your history, which is all Taxxy needs.
